Today’s Highlight: openRuyi Opens the K3 Firmware Platform Line — edk2-ruyi / ruyifirmware Dual Repos Created with Full Initial Batch, First Firmware Release; Biweekly Report 078 Finalized with Summit Preview

Date: 2026-10-13 Source: edk2-ruyi commit list, ruyifirmware Releases, Biweekly Report 078 file, Forum topic #2891

openRuyi-Project on 10-13 finalized the K3 firmware platform line in one stroke: the new repository edk2-ruyi (created at 11:07 Beijing time that day) landed a full initial batch of 35 commits for the SpacemiT K3 Pico ITX EDK2 platform code (author RevySR, push window 11:55–16:21), covering the complete chain from platform package definitions to peripheral drivers. On the platform foundation side, it includes the standalone SpacemitPlatformPkg platform package with shared resource/clock handling, power domain control, DMA high-address non-coherent support, and board-level EEPROM and Ethernet MAC allocation. On the boot and security chain side, it includes SEC-phase memory discovery and device tree publication, boot selection and hotkey policy, boot logo with countdown/recovery status display, NOR-backed UEFI runtime variables, DDR training record persistence, and a full Fastboot implementation (EFI image loading, NOR/NVMe/UFS firmware updates, version query, verified updates with NV preservation, and USB device-side transfer). On the peripheral side, it includes storage (UFS high-speed link negotiation, QSPI NOR access), networking (EQoS native Ethernet, RTL8127 SFP link, SNP polling service and adapter information), display (DPU clock/scanout management, Inno DP AUX and link training, EDID modes and GOP operations), USB host controller, and PCIe controller/shared PHY. The final two commits address graphics console connection timing and 64-bit BAR reservation for devices with Option ROMs.

The companion ruyifirmware was created at 12:01 the same day and landed with 5 commits (12:17–18:31, also by RevySR): positioned as “firmware based on coreboot, OpenSBI, and EDK2,” it establishes a packaging chain make package for the K3 Pico ITX, with artifacts in two variants toggled by x64 emulation (the emulator is used to run x64 UEFI Option ROMs and supports discrete GPU GOP; the README notes that RX550 on K3 has a pointer truncation issue and recommends the no-x64emu variant), and includes PCI Option ROM/GOP updates and a CI build-and-release pipeline. At 18:46 the same day, the first firmware release “Ruyi Firmware 20261013” was published. The same organization’s kiwi-image also landed a GitHub Action and local build script for riscv64 images that day (3 commits, authors Z572 and Fancyhe1). With firmware, packaging, and images all moving in parallel on the same day, the open delivery chain for the K3 hardware foundation has taken shape.

On the community side, a dissemination milestone was also finalized the same day: RuyiSDK Biweekly Report 078 completed its editorial pipeline (#371–#378, 8 commits total, closing at 17:46 with “add summary, remove sections with no progress”) and went live — themed “RuyiSDK to Appear at the RISC-V China Summit” (10.18–20, Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center, Futian; keynote, poster presentation, and D15 booth demo); content summarizes the package manager 0.54.0 end-of-month release plan, one round of IDE polishing, and progress across the base C library/GCC/LLVM/V8/OpenJDK/Go lines (see 4.1 and 2.4 for details).

I. RuyiAI Stack Progress (PyTorch / Triton / TileLang RISC-V Adaptation)

Window Overview: The RuyiAI-Stack organization spans 18 repositories, with activity in four areas during this window: pytorch (another full-stack rebuild on the riscv branch with 23 commits; 8 open PRs refreshed; 70 upstream syncs on main), llvm-project (no new pushes on the riscv branch during the window; 100 upstream syncs on main), ruyiai-daily (issues 10-13), and the site repository (one routine contributors data update); triton-riscv, harness, tilelang-riscv, mxnet, caffe, FBGEMM, IntrinTrans, VecIntrinBench, cpuinfo, torq-tile, dsh-osc, skills, pytorch-ci, SyncBots-DeepAgents, and others saw no pushes during the window.

1.1 pytorch: riscv branch completes another full-stack rebuild (23 commits re-landed, head a17584a3); 8 open PRs routinely refreshed (10-13)

Date: 2026-10-13 Source: riscv branch commit list, head commit a17584a3, PR list

The riscv branch completed another full-stack rebuild: 23 local commits were re-landed wholesale with new committer timestamps (concentrated around 03:00 on 10-13), with the head updated to a17584a3 “[SyncBots] Integrate PyTorch at e188cec” (the previous version of the same title, 6ff4eefe, was superseded by this rebuild, with the SHA updated accordingly). The stack composition maintains the existing sequence (#44 bytes_to_scalar fix, #50 blocklist expansion, #42 ULP tolerance, three SyncBots integrations, #40 / #41 CI parsing, #20 / #21 CI split, #18 cpuinfo replacement, #12 commit hash pinning, #11 / #4 / #1 blocklist series, etc.), with the base carrying the 10-12 evening upstream snapshot (its lower boundary being upstream sync point db0d2902b8). This round continues the rebuild cadence of one push each morning over the past week (continuously visible since 10-08). On the open PR side, 8 PRs (#23 Enable XNNPACK, #35 test PR, #36 timeout relaxation, #38 DataLoader temporary disable, #43 patch streamlining, #46 ATen RVV support, #48 RVV CPU capability, #51 riscv64 local image) had their baselines batch-refreshed on the morning of 10-13 (09:08), all remaining open, with no merges or closures during the window. The main branch synced 70 upstream commits during the window (including general changes to inductor, CUDA, CI, MPS, etc., not individually listed per filtering rules).

1.2 llvm-project: no new replay round on the riscv branch during the window; two FPGA PRs remain open (10-13)

Date: 2026-10-13 (status) Source: riscv commit list, head commit 0fb2da86, PR #25, PR #28

No new pushes on the riscv branch during the window: the head remains 0fb2da86 “[RISCV] Add A100 HP/SP and pack/unpack lowering with calibrated scheduling”, still the version landed by the late-night 10-12 replay (committer time 10-12 23:00); the previous overnight replay cadence on 10-09, 10-11, and 10-12 was not continued this round, with no new round seen by the end of the window (whether the next round appears is a follow-up observation point). The two FPGA backend PRs (#25 “BOSCAME FPGA backend”, #28 “xboscame FPGA”) remain open and were not refreshed during the window. The buckyball branch (head from 10-06) saw no activity. The main branch synced 100 upstream commits during the window (10-13 14:36 ~ 22:45, not individually listed per filtering rules).

1.3 triton-riscv: silent during the window, nightly channel maintains the 10-11 build (10-13)

Date: 2026-10-13 (status) Source: Releases page, PR #85

No new commits on the main branch during the window (head remains fe554ff, 10-10), and the nightly channel produced no new build — the latest is still “Nightly 2026-10-11-fe554ff” (published 10-12); on the open PR side there were no updates during the window (the community optimization PR #85 “softmax and matmul optimization” last updated on 10-08, remaining open). The first artifact after the Buddy MLIR dependency upgrade (#84) has stabilized, and follow-up observation points remain device-side test feedback for the riscv64 wheel and review progress on #85.

1.4 Intelligence and site infrastructure: ruyiai-daily publishes issue 10-13; site repository routinely updated (10-13)

Date: 2026-10-13 Source: issue 10-13 file, issue 10-13 commit, site repository commit list

The tech intelligence repository’s issue 10-13 (pushed 10-13 06:17) went live on the morning cadence, with a self-reported window of 10-12 05:15 ~ 10-13 06:00: highlights include Meta launching the Muse Wonder model series (continuous agent execution and cross-conversation memory), AMD releasing the Helion rack blueprint, ReplaySSM hybrid model decoding state storage optimization, the LLVM -fstatic-arena proposal and Flang loop versioning SPEC experiments, and a RISC-V shadow call stack RFC. The RISC-V section covers: Buddy Compiler running the Qwen3-VL-30B-A3B text decoder on K3 (int4 MoE expert kernels, short-context decoding at 13.05 tok/s), RISC-V cross-compilation toolchain simplification and bge_m3 cross-architecture execution validation, the XuanTie T-SBI privileged test protocol layer (damo-rv-priv-ats #37), ggml-spacemit’s independent dual-backend merge into llama.cpp (K3 fast path reporting 28%/11% improvements), the Zephyr ecosystem’s gpSP dynamic recompilation module, and riscv-arch-test’s new Zicntr instruction retirement counter tests. The PyTorch section also covers Inductor fusion matching restoration, MPS non-contiguous view kernel improvements, and more. The site repository performed a routine contributors data update (10-13 06:43, no code changes).

II. RuyiSDK Toolchain and Distributions (Build, Toolchain, IDE, openRuyi)

Window Overview: Within the ruyisdk organization window, activity occurred in four places: llvm-project (XTHeadVector fix merged into rebase-17.0.6), wechat-articles (8 commits for biweekly report 078), packages-index (2 commits for software source mirror fix; new CI PR opened), docs and ruyisdk-website (Ruyi Imager documentation completion PR); ruyi, ruyi-tuner, ruyici, ruyisdk-vscode-extension (code silent, PR updated), riscv-gcc, riscv-binutils, riscv-gnu-toolchain, support-matrix, board-docs, qemu, sail-riscv, riscv-isa-sim, ruyi-backend, AME-operator, attached-matrix-extension, linux-xuantie-kernel and other repositories had no new commits within the window; ruyi-imager only refreshed via nightly build channel. The openRuyi-Project organization saw activity across five repositories totaling 148 commits: openRuyi main repository 103 commits, edk2-ruyi 35 commits, ruyifirmware 5 commits, kiwi-image 3 commits, ceph-ci 2 commits; TakoPack had one additional PR merged (dev branch); lookout, abaci-bot, homepage, go-rpm-macros and others had no commits within the window but have PRs under review.

2.1 ruyisdk/llvm-project: XTHeadVector Indexed Load/Store Mixed-Width Fix Merged into rebase Line (#168, 10-13)

Date: 2026-10-13 Source: PR #168, merge commit 11ff20f62bc3, rebase-17.0.6 branch commit list, issue #136

PR #168 “[LLVM][XTHeadVector] fix Vector indexed load/store th.vlxe/th.vxse only support same reg-mem pair” was merged into the rebase-17.0.6 branch on 10-13 morning (08:47) (author and merger both imkiva, fixing issue #136, containing 2 commits): fixes XTHeadVector indexed load/store (th.vlxe / th.vxse) handling in scenarios where data and index element bit widths differ, preserving signed offset, memory element size, mask passthrough, and zero-length operation semantics, and extends intrinsic lowering to mixed widths of integer and floating-point vectors; additionally adds Clang / LLVM codegen coverage for RV32 / RV64 with mask, zero-length, negative offset, and large index test cases. The previous commit on this branch was a June README update; this is its first substantive commit since June, with the XTHeadVector toolchain line transitioning from long-term maintenance to targeted fixes. The riscv-gcc ztt-dev and matrix extension documentation chain within the same organization and line had no new pushes within the window (GCC head remains at a326bc3), with the Ztt line resting overall during this window.

2.2 openRuyi Firmware Line: edk2-ruyi Single-Day 35-Commit Batch Initial Push (10-13)

Date: 2026-10-13 Source: edk2-ruyi commit list, head commit e5c8db3f

New repository edk2-ruyi (created 10-13 11:07, repository description “EDK2 platform support for ruyifirmware, currently only supports SpacemiT K3 Pico ITX”) made its initial push as a batch of 35 commits (11:55 ~ 16:21, single author RevySR), covering platform packages and shared base libraries, SEC and device tree, boot selection and display, UFS / QSPI NOR storage, EQoS and RTL8127 networking, DPU / Inno DP / GOP display chain, USB and PCIe controllers, Fastboot and verified update full chain (detailed list see today’s highlights); head is e5c8db3f “K3: Defer graphics console connection until PCI drivers return”. Spatially, this repository sits alongside the existing k1firmware / k3firmware, constituting an expansion of openRuyi’s firmware matrix for SpacemiT platforms.

2.3 ruyifirmware and kiwi-image: First Firmware Release and riscv64 Image Automation (10-13)

Date: 2026-10-13 Source: ruyifirmware commit list, Ruyi Firmware 20261013, kiwi-image commit list

ruyifirmware (created 10-13 12:01) established its firmware packaging and release chain with 5 commits: k3 Pico ITX target integration, make package packaging (two variants with x64 emulator toggle), PCI Option ROM / GOP support update, CI build and release pipeline, and released its first firmware version “Ruyi Firmware 20261013” on the same day at 18:46 (based on coreboot + OpenSBI + EDK2). kiwi-image had 3 commits on the same day (13:12 ~ 13:54, authors Z572, Fancyhe1): added GitHub Action and local build script for riscv64 kiwi image, scheduled task integration and version update—openRuyi system image building begins automation. ceph-ci had 2 additional commits (10-14 early morning, author sunyuechi: fork-patches listing SIMD compilation flags, etc.), representing ongoing maintenance of the open storage stack CI.

2.4 openRuyi Main Repository: Single-Day 103 Commits—~90 Go Module Commits, llvm-snapshot Upgraded to LLVM 24, audit Enables RISC-V (10-13)

2.5 TakoPack: Rust New Pipeline Implementation Started (#1 Merged, 10-13)

Date: 2026-10-13 Source: TakoPack repository, PR #1

TakoPack (a tool for packaging Rust/Cargo and Python/PyPI ecosystems into RPM spec) started its Rust new pipeline implementation: PR #1 “feature(rust): start new pipeline implementation” was merged into the dev branch on 10-13 afternoon (15:42) (author Elecleus, single commit), adding takopack-rust’s cargo module and takopack-core’s tool/error modules, and completing core function migration. This tool previously evolved in monolithic form (completed multi-crate split in July); this new pipeline lays the core architecture for subsequent language ecosystem expansion.

2.6 Others: packages-index Fix Merged, VS Code / Documentation Line / ceph-ci Updates (10-13)

Date: 2026-10-13 Source: packages-index PR #226, PR #228, VS Code extension PR #262, docs PR #152, website PR #589

ruyisdk/packages-index fix merged with new CI proposal: #226 “SiFive Unmatched Ubuntu server image download address fix” merged (author weilinfox, including ubuntu-old-releases mirror configuration, 10-13 09:24; biweekly report 078 has acknowledged this contribution), #228 “Telemetry upload no longer fails workflow” newly opened under review (10-13 11:53). VS Code extension build module unit test PR #262 updated within the window (10-13 18:47), release side 0.1.7 remains latest. Documentation line focuses on Ruyi Imager bilateral completion: ruyisdk/docs #152 (link update, created 11:19) and ruyisdk-website #589 (documentation supplement, updated 11:30). ruyi-imager nightly build routine refresh (10-13 08:38, no code changes); ruyi package manager and PyPI remain at 0.53.0 (uploaded 09-24).

III. Vector Extensions and Operator Optimization (VecIntrinBench / IntrinTrans / FBGEMM)

3.1 Three Repositories Silent; attached-matrix-extension Documentation PR Remains Open (10-13 Status)

Date: 2026-10-13 (status) Source: attached-matrix-extension PR #1, VecIntrinBench, IntrinTrans, FBGEMM fork

The three target repositories for vector intrinsic benchmarking, intrinsic translation, and low-precision operator libraries remain silent (VecIntrinBench last commit 02-13, IntrinTrans 06-25, FBGEMM fork 07-13); the same group’s cpuinfo (05-20), torq-tile (04-09) had no activity. Classic framework two repositories’ open PR counts unchanged: MXNet 15, Caffe 3, with no updates within the window. Matrix extension documentation side: attached-matrix-extension’s “intrinsic docs: add ztt intrinsic doc V0.6” PR #1 remains open, with no refresh within the window—consistent with the resting state of both GCC / LLVM ztt-dev lines (see 2.1). The support matrix repository’s two reports under review (#405 Zephyr Milk-V Duo S, #409 ESP32-C6 RT-Thread) also had no new developments.

IV. Community and Events (Biweekly Report, Forum)

4.1 Biweekly Report 078 Finalized and Published: 8-PR Editorial Pipeline Wraps Up, Spotlight on Summit Appearance (10-13)

Date: 2026-10-13 Source: Issue 078 file, PR #378, PR #371

RuyiSDK Biweekly Report Issue 078 has completed all editing and gone live on the forum: within the wechat-articles window, 8 pipeline PRs (#371 ~ #378, 10-13 08:33 ~ 17:46) were merged in succession across the LLVM, OpenJDK, ruyipkg, GNU, Go, and IDE sections; the final PR “add summary, remove sections with no progress” added the summary and removed sections without progress, closing out the editorial cycle. The theme of this issue is “RuyiSDK to Appear at the RISC-V China Summit”: the summit will be held 10.18-20 at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center (Futian), where RuyiSDK will deliver a keynote talk, poster presentation, and demonstrations of multiple application solutions at Booth D15. Highlights of the issue: package manager 0.53.0 continues in service, with 0.54.0 expected by month-end (ABI compatibility detection, official package macOS packaging, and SpacemiT K1/K3 toolchain adaptation in development); the IDE completed a round of polish including virtual environment wizard refactoring, build failure example viewing, error detail exposure, and IEC unit display; base C library (six glibc libmvec vector math functions, six newlib vector math functions ported), GCC (ZTT backend improvements and GEMM/GEMV operator verification scheme, reducing compile time by roughly 5.05%~6.97%; Packed-SIMD synced to 0.6 documentation; Zvzip 0.3 backend submitted), LLVM (multiple RISC-V P extension intrinsics merged), V8 (first RVV Wasm SIMD testing on real hardware and merged hwprobe fallback patch), OpenJDK (JEP 483 / 515 AOT features completed RISC-V porting), Go (multiple CLs for riscv64 atomics and debug mode); thanks to weilinfox for software source fixes; support matrix and development board documentation continue to expand.

4.2 Three New Forum Topics: Summit Participation Announcement, Daily News, Biweekly Report Launch (10-13)

Date: 2026-10-13 Source: Topic #2889, Topic #2890, Topic #2891, RuyiSDK Developer Community

Three new topics were added to the community forum within the window (all on 10-13): #2889 “RuyiSDK Invites You to Join the 6th RISC-V China Summit” (10:00) — introducing the summit agenda and RuyiSDK’s talk, poster, and Booth D15 arrangements, with a registration link; #2890 “2026-10-13 Open Source Technology Hot News” (11:30) — a daily news thread; #2891 “RuyiSDK Biweekly Progress Report Issue 078: RuyiSDK to Appear at the RISC-V China Summit” (17:51) — the biweekly report launch thread. The previous active topic remains the 10-12 WordCraft trial installation thread (#2887).

4.3 External News: Dense Summit Preview Coverage; Zero Updates on arXiv and openRuyi News Pages (10-13 status)

Date: 2026-10-13 (status) Source: 21jingji report, openRuyi news page, arXiv

External news was dominated by summit previews: at 10-13 14:40, 21jingji published “RISC-V Bellwether: 2026 China Summit Fully Upgraded, Discussing Ecosystem Maturity” — citing the summit’s scale (an expected 3,000+ offline attendees, 150+ exhibitors, and online reach of 800,000), the statement that RISC-V already holds 25% of the global processor market, and the setup of seven parallel sub-forums; 36Kr and others also published preview pieces on the same theme. Google News direct queries for RuyiSDK / RuyiAI / openRuyi in both Chinese and English returned zero relevant hits within the window (channel functioning normally). The openRuyi distribution news page has no new articles (the 2026.09 release announcement remains the latest); the RuyiAI official site has no new blog posts. arXiv (RISC-V compilation, vector, and inference directions) had no new listings within the window (the most recent relevant entries remain the 10-05 ~ 10-07 long vector register store SVRF and edge AI Transformer inference acceleration framework, among others).

V. Trend Observations

5.1 Firmware Platform Line Opened: K3 Hardware Foundation Enters a “Firmware–Packaging–Image” Trinity

The openRuyi-Project opened its K3 firmware platform line with a combined move of “repo creation + full-batch initial push + same-day release”: edk2-ruyi platform code (35 commits), the ruyifirmware packaging and release chain (5 commits + first firmware release), and kiwi-image image automation (3 commits) all landed on the same day. Alongside the existing K1/K3 firmware repositories, openRuyi’s system-level support for the SpacemiT platform is now being completed from the kernel/distribution layer up to the firmware layer; combined with the biweekly report’s statement that “K1/K3 toolchain adaptation development is in progress,” K3’s software-hardware integrated delivery cadence is accelerating. Watch points: the subsequent iteration cadence of edk2-ruyi / ruyifirmware, validation feedback on the first firmware release on actual boards, and how it connects with the openRuyi distribution image chain.

5.2 Ecosystem Operations Enter Summit Cadence: Biweekly Report 078 and D15 Booth Warm-Up

One week out from the 10.18 summit opening, operations-line activity is dense: biweekly report 078 closed out with the summit appearance as its theme, a forum participation announcement was published, and external media (21 Finance, 36Kr) warmed up in parallel — RuyiSDK’s summit narrative (talk + poster + D15 booth demo) has entered its landing week. Watch points: the release cadence during summit week (whether a version or results release is tied to the main summit), and the technical highlights of the demo plan.

5.3 Routine Maintenance Dual-Track Observation: PyTorch Morning Rebuild as Usual, LLVM Nightly Replay Not Continued This Round

The cadence of the two fork maintenance lines diverged in this window: the PyTorch riscv branch completed its Nth morning rebuild as usual (23 commits, head updated to a17584a3) along with a PR baseline refresh; the LLVM riscv branch saw no new round of nightly replay (head remains at the 10-12 replay version). Both fall under routine operations, but whether the LLVM-side “overnight replay” cadence returns, and the relationship between the ruyisdk/llvm-project rebase line (XTHeadVector fix already merged) and the fork replay line, are worth continued observation.

5.4 Distribution Dependency Maintenance Goes Batch-Mode: Bulk Go Module Updates and GnuPG Stack Overhaul

Of the 103 commits in the openRuyi main repository on a single day, roughly 90% were bulk updates of Go ecosystem modules, compounded by a full-batch overhaul of the GnuPG security stack (gnupg / libgcrypt / libksba / libgpg-error) and llvm-snapshot jumping to LLVM 24, indicating that openRuyi’s dependency maintenance has entered a “batch processing” mode: following upstream versions at scale within a single window. The review efficiency of such batches and build validation (the cost of full package rebuilds) are implicit constraints on distribution cadence; the watch point is how update batches couple with actual image releases.
