Today’s Highlight: Dual-track toolchain sync — Triton-RISCV patch adapts to new LLVM APIs (#86 merged), LLVM riscv branch completes another nightly replay
Date: 2026-10-09 ~ 2026-10-10 Sources: triton-riscv PR #86, merge commit e00fdd60, llvm-project riscv commit list, head commit 8f38c047, PR #25, PR #28
triton-riscv completed its first PR merge since 09-14 (#81): contributor trdthg opened and merged PR #86 “[patches] Support newer LLVM symbol and inline-asm APIs” around noon on 10-09 (1 file, +111 lines; roughly 20 minutes from open to merge). The context was renovate-maintained Buddy MLIR dependency upgrade PR #84 — bumping buddy-compiler/buddy-mlir from nightly/v0.0.9 to nightly/v0.0.11. Since v0.0.11 carries a newer LLVM version, its MLIR APIs (such as symbol and inline-asm interfaces) are no longer compatible with the pinned-frontend Triton, causing CI across x64 and riscv64 and all Python versions to fail at the build stage. #86 patches in support for the new LLVM symbol and inline-asm APIs, unblocking the issue upon merge (#84 was subsequently refreshed that afternoon and remains open pending inclusion).
On the LLVM side, the llvm-project riscv branch completed another full replay of the patch stack late on 10-09: 26 local patches were re-landed with new committer timestamps (pushed around 23:00 Beijing time), with the head remaining #31 “A100 HP/SP and pack/unpack lowering and scheduling calibration” (8f38c047); the stack composition matches the previous round (including BOSC AME, Buckyball, IME lowering to A100 dot, xtame and other vendor extension patches, plus SyncBots integration records). After the replay, the update timestamps of two FPGA backend PRs (#25 “BOSCAME FPGA backend”, #28 “xboscame FPGA”) were refreshed at 00:53 on 10-10, awaiting review progress under the new baseline.
Summary: In this window, two toolchain maintenance tracks landed in sequence — the LLVM side completed its nightly replay, and the Triton side completed patch adaptation to the new LLVM APIs; together they constitute the stability engineering of the RISC-V AI compiler stack — “replay—adapt—build pipeline” — beneath a rapidly evolving LLVM upstream. The merge was picked up the same day in the ruyiai-daily 10-10 issue, which noted that it “directly concerns RuyiAI’s Triton→Buddy/MLIR build chain, resolving interface incompatibilities after the LLVM upgrade.”
1. RuyiAI Stack Progress (PyTorch / Triton / TileLang RISC-V Porting)
Window Overview: The RuyiAI-Stack org saw activity in four places during this window: llvm-project (26 nightly replays on the riscv branch), pytorch (no new commits on the riscv branch; 8 open PRs had their baselines bulk-refreshed; 73 upstream commits synced to main), triton-riscv (#86 merged and #84 refreshed, nightly channel records maintained), ruyiai-daily (two consecutive issues published), and the site repo (2 routine commits); harness, tilelang-riscv, mxnet, caffe, FBGEMM, IntrinTrans, VecIntrinBench, cpuinfo, torq-tile, dsh-osc, skills, pytorch-ci, SyncBots-DeepAgents, and others saw no pushes during the window.
1.1 llvm-project: riscv branch completes another full patch-stack replay (26 commits); two FPGA PRs updated and awaiting review (10-09 ~ 10-10)
Date: 2026-10-09 ~ 2026-10-10 Source: riscv commit list, head commit 8f38c047, commit d68a4f62, PR #25, PR #28
Late on 10-09 (around 23:00), the riscv branch completed another full patch-stack replay: 26 local patches were re-landed with new committer timestamps, with the head 8f38c047 still being #31 “A100 HP/SP and pack/unpack lowering and scheduling calibration” (same subject as the previous head, a routine replay); the stack composition remains the existing 26 patches (including #30 “IME intrinsics lowering to SpacemiT A100 dot instructions”, #29 BOSC AME instruction update, #27 xtame design, #24 BOSC AME backend design, #23 XBuckyball instruction carrier, #20 Buckyball vendor extension, #18 / #16 / #14, etc., plus the [SyncBots] Integrate LLVM record). The branch base shows upstream commits from 10-09 (around UTC 14:57), meaning this replay carried in the latest upstream snapshot. After the replay completed, the update timestamps of the two FPGA backend PRs were refreshed at 10-10 00:53, remaining open and awaiting review. See today’s highlights for full details.
1.2 PyTorch fork: no new commits on the riscv branch during the window; 8 open PRs had baselines bulk-refreshed; 73 upstream commits synced to main (10-09)
Date: 2026-10-09 Source: riscv branch commits, PR list
No new commits on the riscv branch during the window: the head remains the previous issue’s “[SyncBots] Integrate PyTorch at e188cec” integration line. The update timestamps of the 8 open PRs (#23 Enable XNNPACK, #35 test PR, #36 timeout relaxation, #38 DataLoader temporary disable, #43 patch trimming, #46 ATen RVV support, #48 RVV CPU capability, #51 riscv64 local image) were bulk-refreshed on the morning of 10-09 (09:21) (continuing the daily routine baseline sync cadence), all remaining open, with no merges or closures during the window. The main branch synced 73 upstream commits during the window (sampled as general changes to inductor, MPS, ROCm, CUDA, etc., not individually recorded per the filtering rules; no RISC-V-related commits appeared in the titles).
1.3 triton-riscv: patch-stack adaptation to new LLVM API merged (#86); Buddy dependency PR refreshed; nightly channel records bulk-maintained (10-09)
Date: 2026-10-09 Source: PR #86, PR #84, PR #85, Releases page
The only commit on the main branch during this window was the merge of PR #86 (10-09 12:45, commit e00fdd60; see today’s highlights for background and details). On the dependency side: renovate’s Buddy MLIR upgrade PR #84 (buddy-compiler/buddy-mlir → nightly/v0.0.11.dev20260925) was refreshed once on the afternoon of 10-09 (16:38), remaining open. Community contributor PR #85 (softmax and matmul optimization) saw no updates during the window, remaining open; the other open PRs saw no activity. On the nightly channel side, the Release records for the 09-20 / 09-27 / 10-04 builds were bulk-updated around midday on 10-09 (11:51 ~ 11:52) (build artifacts and publish timestamps unchanged, a channel maintenance action); there was no new build, with the latest still being “Nightly 2026-10-04-12c2f6a” (covering six wheel sets for CPython 3.12 / 3.13 / 3.14 on x86_64 and riscv64, continuing on the existing weekly cadence).
1.4 Intelligence and site infrastructure: ruyiai-daily publishes two consecutive issues on 10-09 / 10-10; routine commits to the site repo (10-09 ~ 10-10)
Date: 2026-10-09 ~ 2026-10-10 Source: 10-09 issue commit, 10-10 issue commit, site commit d462ffd0
The technical intelligence repo ruyiai-daily published two consecutive issues: the 10-09 issue (pushed 10-09 06:26) covered highlights including a retrospective on Triton-RISCV Agent and Harness integration, SpacemiT AI Gateway’s model download and resumable transfer capabilities, and the XiangShan difftest accelerator clock; the 10-10 issue (pushed 10-10 06:16) covered news including triton-riscv #86’s LLVM adaptation (see today’s highlights), Ubuntu’s announcement of an experimental desktop image for RISC-V (SpacemiT K3 eligible for testing), and the XiangShan FMA early-wakeup optimization (SPECfp2006/GHz improvement of 3.44%), among others. The RuyiAI website repo saw 2 routine commits during the window (contributors.json, on the mornings of 10-09 and 10-10), with no new blog posts. The R&D infrastructure repo harness saw no new commits during the window (its Triton-RISCV agent integration was covered in the previous issue).
II. RuyiSDK Toolchain and Distributions (Build, Toolchain, IDE, openRuyi)
Window Overview: Within the ruyisdk organization window, two actions occurred: the VS Code extension (PR #262 opened) and ruyi-imager (routine nightly channel refresh); riscv-gcc, riscv-binutils, riscv-gnu-toolchain, ruyi, packages-index, support-matrix, board-docs, ruyi-tuner, ruyici, sail-riscv, riscv-isa-sim, qemu, ruyi-backend, AME-operator, attached-matrix-extension and others saw no commits or releases within the window. Actions in the openRuyi-Project organization were concentrated in the main repository (13 commits, see 2.3).
2.1 riscv-gcc and Matrix Toolchain: Entirely Silent Within the Window (ztt-dev Head Remains at 10-08)
Date: 2026-10-09 (status) Source: ztt-dev commit list, riscv-binutils, riscv-gnu-toolchain
Entirely silent within the window: the ztt-dev branch head remains at af51a350 from 10-08 (36-commit Ztt batch, covered in the previous issue); the ztt-dev branch of riscv-binutils (latest 09-30) and the ame-experimental branch of riscv-gnu-toolchain (latest 09-30) saw no new activity; no new PRs within the window (most recent merges #20 / #21 were on 10-07, outside the window).
2.2 VS Code Extension: PR #262 “build module unit tests” Opened (10-09)
Date: 2026-10-09 Source: PR #262, Releases page
PR #262 “test: add unit test for build module” was opened by sisungo on 10-09 morning (09:44) (updated 09:47, remains open): it adds a self-build workspace configuration to the extension (building the extension itself using build rules) and adds unit tests for the build functionality, pointing toward verifiability construction for the extension project itself. On the release side, 0.1.7 remains the latest; the two feature commits from the previous issue (package description tooltip, vsce 4.0.0) corresponding to PR #260 / #261 were merged on 10-08.
2.3 openRuyi: 13 More Go Module SPECS Commits (10-09)
Date: 2026-10-09 Source: commit list, commit b989df4c, commit 7dc35812, commit c54a59d9
13 commits in the main repository within the window (the sole source of action across the entire organization): a single batch of 13 Go module SPECS additions pushed at 10-09 22:55 — go-github-franz-go, OpenTelemetry profiling, Jaeger IDL, go-bdd-gobdd, the datadog series (gohai, dd-sdk-go-testing, agent-payload-v5), ghinstallation-v2, Alibaba Cloud OpenAPI util and gateway-spi, alecthomas-chroma, cloudfoundry-clock, buf-go-protovalidate. This is a continuation batch following the 31-commit Go ecosystem batch on 10-08, with the Go dependency chain for cloud-native and observability components continuing to be filled in, representing ongoing packaging expansion after the 2026.09 release.
2.4 Others: ruyi and PyPI Remain at 0.53.0; ruyi-imager Routine Nightly Channel Refresh (10-10)
Date: 2026-10-09 ~ 2026-10-10 (status) Source: ruyi Releases, PyPI, Imager nightly build
ruyi package manager: main repository silent (latest commit 09-25); PyPI 0.53.0 remains the latest (uploaded 09-24, no new beta). ruyi-imager: routine nightly channel build refresh (10-10 06:39, no code changes). packages-index, support-matrix, board-docs, ruyi-tuner and others saw no new activity within this window.
III. Vector Extensions and Operator Optimization (VecIntrinBench / IntrinTrans / FBGEMM)
3.1 Three Repositories Silent; MXNet / Caffe Open PRs Total 18 with No Window Updates (10-09 status)
Date: 2026-10-09 (status) Source: VecIntrinBench, IntrinTrans, FBGEMM, MXNet PR list, caffe PR list
The three target repositories for vector intrinsic benchmarking, intrinsic translation, and low-precision operator libraries remain silent (VecIntrinBench last commit 02-13, IntrinTrans 06-25, FBGEMM fork 07-13); the same group’s cpuinfo (05-20) and torq-tile (04-09) saw no activity. The two classic framework repositories remain open: MXNet 15 PRs, Caffe 3 PRs, totaling 18, with no updates within the window (their most recent updates were 09-24 / 09-28 respectively). This window’s operator and compilation chain activity was concentrated in the patch adaptation merge for triton-riscv (#86, see 1.3).
IV. Community and Events (Biweekly Report, Forum)
4.1 No New Forum Posts Within the Window; RuyiAI Section and Biweekly Report Remain at Issue 077 (10-09 status)
Date: 2026-10-09 (status) Source: RuyiSDK Developer Community, #2886, #2852
No new topics or replies within the forum window; the latest topic remains #2886 “Hands-on Notes on Installing and Upgrading ruyi with Scripts” from the previous issue (10-08 evening). The RuyiAI section’s latest remains the 09-30 news post (#2876); RuyiSDK Biweekly Report Issue 077 (09-24) remains the latest, with Issue 078 not yet published. Community activity is still in a recovery period after the National Day holiday.
4.2 Zero Hits for External News and arXiv; No New Articles on openRuyi News Page (10-09 status)
Date: 2026-10-09 (status) Source: openRuyi news page, arXiv, RuyiAI official site
Google News returned zero relevant hits within the window across multiple Chinese and English queries for RuyiSDK, RuyiAI, openRuyi, and Ruyi RISC-V (the sole “Ruyi RISC-V” hit was a 36Kr IPO article unrelated to this project and was not included; the channel is functioning normally). arXiv (RISC-V and compilation, vector, inference directions) had no new entries within the window (most recent relevant item 10-07). The openRuyi distribution news page has no new articles (the 2026.09 release announcement remains the latest); the RuyiAI official site and blog have no new articles.
V. Trend Observations
5.1 Toolchain Sync Loop: From Upstream Evolution to Patches and Channels
The focus of this window falls on the closed loop of “upstream evolution—local patches—build channels”: amid rapid LLVM upstream iteration, the riscv branch maintains baseline sync via nightly replays; on the Triton side, patch #86 absorbs the new LLVM API changes, clearing the way for the dependency upgrade of Buddy MLIR v0.0.11. Follow-up observation points: when #84 (Buddy v0.0.11) will be merged into the main branch and enter the nightly channel; the review progress of #85 (community softmax / matmul optimization); the review results of the two FPGA backend PRs (#25 / #28) on the new baseline.
5.2 Packaging Expansion’s Continued Batch Cadence and Monthly Release Observation Points
Following the 31 Go ecosystem commits in a single day on 10-08, openRuyi landed another 13 Go module SPECS on 10-09 (including franz-go, OpenTelemetry profiling, Jaeger IDL, Alibaba Cloud OpenAPI, etc.), continuously filling out the dependency chains for cloud-native and observability components, extending the packaging expansion after the 2026.09 release. Observation point: whether these two batches of dependencies enter the build baseline when the 2026.10 monthly release cycle begins.
5.3 Dual-Issue Intelligence Push and Community Recovery Period
ruyiai-daily pushed two issues, 10-09 / 10-10, on its daily cadence, and triton-riscv #86 was merged and recorded on the same day, maintaining efficient linkage between intelligence and R&D; by contrast, the community side (forum, biweekly report) has yet to return to its pre-holiday cadence after the National Day holiday—zero new posts in the forum window, and the biweekly report remains at issue 077. Its recovery progress (issue 078 and the news post series) is an observation point for next week.
