Date: 2026-10-27 Sources: build-infra PR #1536 · build-infra PR #1525 · community PR #157 · FlagGems-Experimental PR #744 · FlagGems PR #6892 (see appendix for the full list)
- Version side: Between 06:54 and 13:25 on 10-27, build-infra merged twenty consecutive bot commits, uniformly recording the vllm application image tags for twenty backend keys as 2.3.0-0.3.0. This covers both Ascend toolchains cann8.5.0 and cann9.0.0 (including the 910C variant), Cambricon neuware4.4.3 and 4.7.2, Enflame tops1.9.10 and 1.10.6, Moore Threads musa4.3.6 and 5.2.0, MetaX maca3.7.2.1 and 3.8.1.3, Iluvatar corex4.4.0 and 4.5.0, NVIDIA cuda12.8 and cuda13.3, as well as Kunlunxin xre5.37.1, Hygon dtk26.04, Tsingmicro tsm260610, and Xiwang tangrt1.2.0. In the previous daily report these images were still being rebuilt vendor by vendor under authorization; this window completed the bookkeeping, moving “runtime refreshed” forward to “application layer follows the release.”
- Backend side: AMD’s ROCm 7.2.4 grew from a single base image into a complete backend: configuration first (torch 2.11.0+rocm7.2, triton-rocm 3.6.0, flagtree 0.7.0+amd3.6, hardware marked W7900/gfx1100), followed by pinning triton-rocm, adding hipsolver/hipfft/miopen-hip development packages, enabling the AMD wheel line and vendor PyPI in FlagCX, and validating on a local sixteen-card gfx1100 setup. In the same period, the native deb and native rpm packaging lines gained an arm64 dimension, with builds and verification on managed arm64 machines.
- Rules side: community merged two rewrites of FEP-0140 (#157, #158), changing the vLLM plugin’s multi-version compatibility strategy to a “single 0.32 release”: 0.32 becomes the only release version and covers all chips (the original scope of “select five vendors based on Day-0 demand” is changed to the full matrix, i.e., the ten vendors from the 2.2 cycle plus NVIDIA and AMD); 0.28 is no longer a release version, and its matrix column and related PR sections are removed entirely, with already-merged 0.28 adaptations retained only as an upgrade baseline. The timeline requires kickoff in mid-November and completion before mid-December.
- Operator side: FlagGems-Experimental opened 135 new PRs (#744 to #878) within one hour, from 17:43 to 17:59 on 10-27, all titled “Add MetaX support for …”. The PR descriptions state that this round is a retest of MetaX-specific operators: 150 operators were tested, and 135 passed three rounds of retesting and were submitted one by one. The environment was torch 2.8.0+metax3.7.2.0, flagtree 0.6.1, eight-card C550; per-operator accuracy passed all 29 cases, and the geometric mean of performance was 1.008x (threshold 0.8).
- Correctness side: FlagGems merged an integer overflow fix for index_put (#6892, two files, +112/−4 lines). The symptom appeared on DAMO XuanTie PPU-ZW810E: when an int32 index tensor wrote to a large-stride tensor, it silently wrote to the wrong address—the target row was unchanged, while the guard region within the same allocation was overwritten instead. The root cause was that address arithmetic was performed within int32, so the index-times-stride multiplication wrapped around before the pointer offset was formed. In the same window, the Ascend compiler pinning was also advanced from install time to runtime (#7837).
- Assessment: This issue has no new version tags and no simultaneous model Day-0 launches; the focus is on “flattening 2.3”: image matrix bookkeeping, AMD completion, release rule convergence, batch acceptance of MetaX operators, and correctness fixes for key operators. The two hard milestones for 2.3 are the FEP merge deadline on November 13 and rc0 on November 30; before then, community/release/2.3 needs to grow a release checklist from the schedule table.
I. Open-Source Project Progress (GitHub Activity)
1.1 Organizational Cadence: 20 Repos Pushed, 102 Commits, 98 Merges, Open PRs Rise to 401 (10-27 ~ 10-28)
Date: 2026-10-27 ~ 2026-10-28 Source: flagos-ai organization repositories · Commit search · Merged PR search · Open PR search
- Repos: 20 of 61 repos saw pushes in the window, the most in the past two weeks. Pushed repos include build-infra, FlagQuantum, FlagGems, FlagGems-vllm, FlagTree, vllm-plugin-FL, FlagScale, FlagCX, FlagOps, community, FlagTrain, FlagBLAS, flir, and three Release-related repos (docs, release-info, and FlagFFT, which were non-default-branch pushes).
- Commits: The commit search returned 102 hits, broken down by repo as build-infra 37, FlagQuantum 29, FlagGems 6, FlagGems-vllm 6, FlagTree 4, vllm-plugin-FL 3, FlagBLAS 2, FlagCX 2, Torch-FL 2, FlagTrain 2, FlagOps 2, community 2, and 1 each for FlagGems-sglang, FlagQAI, Trident, FlagScale, and flir.
- Merges: 98 merged PRs, split by repo as build-infra 36, FlagGems 20, FlagQuantum 10, FlagTree 7, vllm-plugin-FL 6, FlagGems-vllm 6, Torch-FL 2, community 2, FlagTrain 2, FlagCX 2, and 1 each for FlagScale, FlagOps, FlagBLAS, flir, and Trident.
- Open PRs: 401 open PRs were updated in the window, with 269 newly opened. FlagGems 173 (93 newly opened), FlagGems-Experimental 135 (all newly opened in the window), vllm-plugin-FL 17, FlagTree 17, FlagGems-vllm 15, FlagCX 8, sglang-plugin-FL 7, Torch-FL 5, FlagTrain 5, and 1 to 4 for the remaining repos.
- Cadence comparison: Versus the previous 24-hour window (18 repos, 185 commits, 133 merges, 225 open PRs, 74 newly opened), pushed repos rose by 2, merges fell 26%, open PRs rose 78%, and newly opened rose 264%. The surge in open PRs comes mainly from a one-time batch of 135 submissions to FlagGems-Experimental; excluding those, the count is 266, still above the prior day.
- Releases and events: An atomic check of Releases and Tags across 31 repos found no additions in this window; build-infra’s latest tag remains v2.2.0 from August 3. The org event stream had 100 entries: 84 PR events, 8 pushes, 6 branch creations, and 2 branch deletions. Among them, FlagGems #7809 was repeatedly closed and reopened 63 times between 04:21 and 05:57, accounting for 60% of the sample and suspected to be an automated retry loop, with no corresponding merge observed.
- Branches: The docs, FlagFFT, and release-info repos had pushed_at timestamps within the window but no new commits on their default branches, indicating non-default-branch pushes (FlagFFT shows branches such as 0.2.0-rc2 and bump-version-0.3.0-dev1; release-info contains only a license and a blank README).
1.2 Releases: 2.3.0 Application Images Recorded Across 20 Backends, AMD ROCm 7.2.4 Backend Added (10-27)
Date: 2026-10-27 Source: build-infra PR #1536 · build-infra PR #1525 · build-infra PR #1537 · configs.yaml
- Image records: Twenty bot commits uniformly recorded the vllm application image tag as 2.3.0-0.3.0, covering twenty backend keys: Ascend cann8.5.0, cann8.5.0-910c, cann9.0.0, cann9.0.0-910c; Cambricon neuware4.4.3, neuware4.7.2; Enflame tops1.9.10, tops1.10.6; Moore Threads musa4.3.6, musa5.2.0; MetaX maca3.7.2.1, maca3.8.1.3; Iluvatar corex4.4.0, corex4.5.0; NVIDIA cuda12.8, cuda13.3; plus Kunlunxin xre5.37.1, Hygon dtk26.04, Tsingmicro tsm260610, and Enflame Tangrt1.2.0.
- Runtime changelog: The 2.3.0 runtime changelog was updated in step, first adding Hygon dtk26.04, then AMD rocm7.2.4 (including a commit rebuilding hipsolver/hipfft/miopen-hip).
- AMD backend: The config layer adds vendors.amd.rocm7.2.4, with a stack of torch 2.11.0+rocm7.2, triton-rocm 3.6.0, and flagtree 0.7.0+amd3.6; hardware is labeled Radeon PRO W7900 (gfx1100, RDNA3), driver 6.16.13, Python 3.12. The build side uses a self-hosted amd runner and validates via rocm-smi, noting that FlagGems has no ROCm/HIP C++ backend yet, so no cmake backend is configured for now.
- Packaging: The native deb and native rpm lines gain an architecture dimension (amd64 and arm64 for deb, x86_64 and aarch64 for rpm); arm64 rows build and validate on hosted machines, with dependency indexes read per architecture. Previously only FlagCX’s Ascend row had produced arm64 packages, because its machine happened to be aarch64.
- Gating: The base layer gains per-image changelogs, and base pushes now require a changelog and date; the three image-recording loops were merged into a single script to reduce duplicated logic.
- Outstanding: The 2.3.0 version tag has still not been cut; community/release/2.3 contains only the Chinese and English schedules, with no release manifest yet.
1.3 Rules: FEP-0140 Changed to a Single 0.32 Release, 0.28 Skipped, AMD Added (10-27)
Date: 2026-10-27 Source: community PR #157 · community PR #158 · 2.3 release schedule
- Primary version: The multi-version compatibility plan for the vLLM plugin (FEP-0140) was rewritten per the revised 2.3 plan: 0.32 becomes the primary release version and covers all chips, expanding the original scope of “five vendors selected by Day-0 needs, list TBD” into a full matrix—the ten vendors from the 2.2 cycle plus NVIDIA and AMD. The timeline is unchanged: kickoff in mid-November, completion before mid-December.
- Version skip: 0.28 is no longer a release version, and no further platform work, release testing, or deployment docs will be invested in it; the already-merged 0.28 adaptations remain as a baseline for upgrading to 0.32. A second PR further removed the 0.28 matrix column, the non-goal section, and the related PR paragraph (ten links), leaving only a single line stating “0.28 skipped.”
- AMD added: The matrix gains an AMD row listing only 0.32, without 0.24 or 0.28 history.
- Schedule alignment: The 2.3 timeline is 11-13 FEP merge deadline, 11-30 feature freeze and rc0 cut, 12-07 rc1 cut, 12-14 rc2 cut, 12-25 code freeze, 12-30 release; the FEP merge deadline is hard, and anything unmerged slips to the next version.
- Assessment: This is not a version-number tweak but a one-time elimination of the cost of chasing each vLLM minor release: the 0.28 adaptation work is retained as a baseline, while acceptance and docs all point to 0.32—at the cost of having to re-run acceptance on 0.32 for the adaptations done on 0.28.
1.4 FlagGems: int32 Offset Overflow Fix in index_put, Ascend Compiler Now Pinned at Runtime (10-27)
Date: 2026-10-27 Source: FlagGems PR #6892 · FlagGems PR #7837 · FlagGems PR #7752 · FlagGems PR #7220
- Correctness: The address arithmetic in the kernel shared by index_put_ and index_put_impl was changed to a wide type (#6892, +112/−4 across two files). Previously, on DAMO XuanTie PPU-ZW810E, int32 indices with large-stride tensors silently wrote to the wrong addresses, leaving the target rows unchanged while corrupting guard prefixes within the same allocation; the root cause is that index-times-stride was evaluated in int32 and wrapped first, so converting only the final offset afterward came too late.
- Compiler pinning: On the Ascend side, flagtree was bumped from 0.7.0+ascend3.5 to 0.7.1a1+ascend3.5 (#7837, +291 across five files). Changing the version number alone was ineffective—the runtime image bakes flagtree into /opt/flagtree outside the virtualenv, so the pip-installed pin cannot override it; a reconcile layer was still preempted by the preset path, so a new script was added to verify and correct it at runtime based on package metadata.
- Vendor optimizations: On the Kunlunxin side, slice_scatter and vstack were optimized and the vendor operator table restored (#7752, using sym_numel to recover operators missed by the registration logic); in the same window, the foreach dtype helper was fixed (#7832) and the full 20261026 batch merged (#7776). On the Iluvatar side, conv2d was optimized by caching packed weights and fusing the channels_last channel transform (#7220).
- KernelGen side: The 93 newly opened PRs remain mostly NVIDIA single-operator additions (23 of the window’s top entries are newly opened), with Hy4-preview RMSNorm, BF16 linear, and a shared INT8 indexer interface (#7782) under review.
- Assessment: The value in this repo for the day lies in “silent errors” rather than new operators: address-write bugs like the index_put one do not fail tests and only surface on specific backends with large tensors—the kind that blows up after launch.
1.5 FlagGems-Experimental: 150 MetaX Operators Retested, 135 Pass and Are Filed as Individual PRs (10-27)
Date: 2026-10-27 Source: FlagGems-Experimental PR #744 · FlagGems-Experimental PR #878 · FlagGems-Experimental repo
- Scale: Between 17:43 and 17:59 on 10-27, 135 PRs (#744 to #878) were opened within an hour, all by the same account, with titles uniformly formatted as “Add MetaX support for
," each touching a single file with roughly 200 lines changed. - Origin: The PR descriptions state that this round is a retest of MetaX-specialized operators (the 1027 batch), with 150 operators tested, of which 135 passed three rounds of retesting and will be filed as individual PRs; the 15 that failed are left out of the batch.
- Acceptance criteria: Taking the arccosh_ PR as an example, all 29 accuracy cases passed and matched the vendor evidence baseline, and performance met the bar across three retest rounds with a geometric mean of 1.008× (threshold 0.8), on an environment of torch 2.8.0+metax3.7.2.0, flagtree 0.6.1, and 8× C550.
- Repo status: The repo’s default branch has had no pushes since 10-21, and all 135 PRs from this round are open; the repo remains positioned as an experimentation and acceptance ground outside the main repo.
- Assessment: This moves the acceptance evidence for chip-specialized operators into a reviewable state, and in one stroke raises the organization’s open PR count by a third; what to watch next is whether this batch merges in bulk and whether it flows back into the main repo’s operator table afterward.
1.6 Compilers: FlagTree Adjusts TLE Interfaces, flir Adds TensorView Dialect (10-27)
Date: 2026-10-27 Source: FlagTree PR #1423 · FlagTree PR #1448 · FlagTree PR #1452 · flir PR #83
- Language side: FlagTree merged seven PRs, three of them TLE-related—tle.gpu.copy gains an other target (#1429), the is_tle_supported and require_tle interfaces were updated (#1423), and the way supported primitives are obtained in HCU tests was corrected (#1452).
- Backend side: The Moore Threads SDK was bumped to v0.7.1 (#1448, a two-line change), aligning with the 0.7.1a1+mthreads3.6 tag cut the previous day; the Ascend side aligned add_rms_norm_bias with AscendC precision (#1445); FlagMega disabled the nvidia-sm90 runtime test on non-SM90 machines (#1418) and made paged attention’s merged state address by result coordinates (#1434).
- IR side: flir adds a TensorView (tv) dialect (#83, +1396/−13 across 25 files): it turns Triton pointers into tensor_view carrying shape, stride, and access encoding, provides partitioned, strided, and gather/scatter encodings with corresponding load/store ops, and hooks into CommonIR’s tile.load and tile.store; it sits between the Triton tt dialect and HIVM/Ascend NPU IR, parallel to TileIR.
- Under review: 17 FlagTree PRs are open (6 newly opened), including SpacemiT’s vmt4d backend (#1455), Kunlunxin’s distributed TLE backend (#1436), Hygon’s TLE communication primitive adaptation (#1441), and decode speedups for AMD R9700 and W7900 (#1439).
1.7 Inference and Training Stack: TXDA Graph Mode, SGLang 0.5.18, Offline Operator Profiling (10-27)
Date: 2026-10-27 Source: vllm-plugin-FL PR #649 · FlagGems-vllm PR #998 · sglang-plugin-FL PR #155 · FlagScale PR #1310
- vLLM plugin: Six merges. Tsingmicro TXDA gains cudagraph capture and replay (#649, +487 across eight files); previously TXDA’s triton launcher rejected kernel launches inside the capture domain and the device guard switched to the wrong stream, making graph mode effectively unusable—this PR routes TXDA through a separate graph class and keeps non-TXDA paths byte-for-byte identical to upstream. Enflame S60’s vLLM 0.28 adaptation merged (#582), MetaX long single-request prefill switched to contiguous KV (#638), and there were a forward sync from 0.4.0-dev to 0.5.0-dev (#648) and a CodeQL trigger addition (#650).
- Operators and operator libraries: Six merges in FlagGems-vllm, including migration of the NVIDIA baseline collector (#984), MetaX FlashAttention precision and graph-capture fixes plus TP2/TP4 optimizations (#998), stage-aware fused MoE tuning (#943), mhc_post optimization on Moore Threads and several domestic backends (#976), and syncing attention fixes from FlagGems plus fixing a Hopper FA3 issue (#1006).
- SGLang plugin: Kunlunxin bumped to SGLang 0.5.18 (#155, open), AMD R9700 (gfx1201) running FlagOS SGLang (#157, open), locating the wrapper library by FlagCX 0.14+ layout (#156, open), and Hy4-preview text and NextN adapters (#154, open).
- Training side: FlagTrain merged two KMCompiler operators—fused_pad_routing_map (#27, 1.0× the NVIDIA baseline and over 1.4× torch on Ascend) and fused_gated_norm (#25). FlagScale merged offline training operator profiling (#1310, +1474 across four files): the training side only exports each rank’s Chrome timeline, while an offline extractor performs external-ID attribution, communication accounting, and multi-rank aggregation, outputting a columnar artifact consistent with inference profiling.
- Torch-FL: Two merges—routing the decoded soft-lowp combination by conf key and applying it only where kernels exist (#665), and fixing the MUSA tuner to flow through all strategy subclasses and select conf by any vendor name (#666); three new PRs were opened around DCU directory spelling and soft-lowp matrix declarations.
1.8 Other Repos: FlagQAI’s First CLI Import, Ten FlagQuantum Merges, FlagBLAS Naming Alignment (10-27)
Date: 2026-10-27 Source: FlagQAI repo · FlagQAI PR #1 · FlagQuantum PR #939 · FlagBLAS PR #155
- New component: FlagQAI (a TypeScript monorepo created on October 10) imported its first CLI source snapshot at 21:03 on 10-27; its README positions it as “turning intent into verifiable quantum computing,” i.e., developers declare computations and constraints and the system synthesizes circuits that satisfy them. It also states that the current verification scope covers only local circuit simulation and one fixed-ansatz two-qubit variational route, with the synthesis layer being a direction rather than a completed capability. The first CI run failed at the fixture-list step, after which PR #1 was opened to fix it (open).
- Quantum line: FlagQuantum merged ten PRs from 29 commits, including expectation-value contraction of Module Hamiltonians under tensor networks (#939), fixed-shots error-correction memory experiments (#932), completion of fixed two-qubit gate coverage (#935), and refusal when truncated MPS cannot provide gradients (#943).
- Numerical library: FlagBLAS merged L1 naming and reference alignment (#155), following the previous day’s bulk landing of fifteen DAMO XuanTie BLAS1 operator groups.
- Communication and tooling: FlagCX adds TSM support for FlagOS’s Torch backend and hardens async communication (#674, +886/−80 across ten files), and in the same window fixed decoding when the version code is below ten thousand (#677). Trident supports building and running on Python 3.10 (#5), with open PR #4 introducing the Monad intermediate layer. FlagOps raised robust-checkout’s default connection timeout from 30 seconds to 300 seconds (#17). The docs bot opened one PR to update docs per ModelScope (#566).
II. News Coverage and Ecosystem
2.1 Channel Verification: None of 21 Candidates Fall Within the Window; No New Hits on CSDN or HN (10-27 ~ 10-28)
Date: 2026-10-27 ~ 2026-10-28 Sources: Google News RSS search · HN Algolia search · CSDN FlagOS column · BAAI Community
- Candidate pool: Twenty-four groups of Chinese and English query terms returned 21 candidates within the window; after item-by-item verification, none were adopted. Component-name queries (FlagOS, FlagGems, FlagScale, FlagTree, FlagPerf, FlagCX, KernelGen) totaled twelve in Chinese and English combined, all with zero hits—the second consecutive quiet window.
- Reposted old news: Two Enflame articles among the candidates (“listed today” and “lands on A-shares”) were verified as reposted old news—the company’s STAR Market listing date was September 11, corroborated by both the listing announcement and same-day coverage; another 10-27 item on share price and sector performance was likewise market commentary.
- Out-of-window articles: A Tsingmicro “Annual Science and Technology Innovation Pioneer” piece originally ran in The Paper on October 22; the 10-27 entry was a same-day reprint, and Open3D-PIMC had already been included in the October 26 daily briefing.
- Irrelevant articles: The dozen-plus BAAI items were model and community content (AREX-2 long-horizon reflection, the JEPA roundtable, a vLLM performance comparison) with no direct relation to the FlagOS software stack; Shangguan News’ 10-27 piece “Chips Lack Scenarios, Scenarios Lack Confidence?” discussed another company’s full-stack intelligent computing deployment throughout and never mentioned FlagOS.
- Channel status: The latest article in the CSDN FlagOS column remains dated October 22; eight HN Algolia queries returned zero direct hits within the four-day window; the BAAI Community had no new articles in the window.
2.2 Member Websites: Moore Threads’ 10-27 Item on a 4K Post-Production Network Going Live Has No Direct Link to the Software Stack (10-27)
Date: 2026-10-27 Sources: Moore Threads News Center · MetaX website · Iluvatar CoreX website · Tsingmicro website
-
Updates: On 10-27, Moore Threads published “Moore Threads × Beijing Radio and Television Station First Fully Xinchuang 4K Ultra-HD Post-Production Network Officially Goes Live,” an industry deployment case that does not involve FlagOS components or changes to the MUSA open-source stack, so it does not qualify as a main-text entry under our inclusion criteria. - No updates: The news lists on the official websites of MetaX, Iluvatar CoreX, Cambricon, Enflame, and Tsingmicro had no new items within the window; the Hygon and Horizon Robotics pages were static or failed to scrape, so the visible list content was taken as authoritative.
- Assessment: This is the second consecutive quiet window on the news side; this issue’s main content remains code, images, and rules. In such windows, the value of website patrols lies in confirming that “there really is nothing,” not in finding material.
III. Deep Dive into Member Units and Backend Vendors
3.1 MetaX: Operator Retesting Wrapped Up, FlashAttention and MoE Tuning Merged the Same Day (10-27)
Date: 2026-10-27 Source: FlagGems-Experimental PR #744 · FlagGems-vllm PR #998 · FlagGems-vllm PR #943 · vllm-plugin-FL PR #638
- Operators: Retesting of 150 specialized operators completed; 135 passed three rounds of retesting and were submitted in a batch, covering the foreach family, sparse tensors, numerical functions, and more; the 15 that failed did not enter the submission batch.
- Attention and MoE: On the FlagGems-vllm side, fixed FlashAttention cache safety and graph capture issues and optimized TP2/TP4 (#998), and differentiated tuning parameters for fused MoE by stage (#943).
- Inference side: The vLLM plugin’s long single-request prefill no longer copies segment by segment when continuous KV is present (#638); the adaptation for Qwen3.8-Flash-Next is still under review (#635), and the MetaX backend package for SGLang (#50) was merged at the end of the previous window.
- Images: Application image tags for both MACA versions (3.7.2.1 and 3.8.1.3) have been recorded to 2.3.0-0.3.0.
3.2 Ascend: Compiler 0.7.1a1 Plus Runtime Forced Pinning, Native Graphs and W8A8 on the vLLM Side (10-27)
Date: 2026-10-27 Source: FlagGems PR #7837 · vllm-plugin-FL PR #646 · vllm-plugin-FL PR #643 · FlagTree PR #1445
- Compiler: FlagGems’ Ascend operator test chain migrated from 0.7.0+ascend3.5 to 0.7.1a1+ascend3.5, with a new runtime validation script added to fix the issue of the preinstalled compiler in the image overriding the pip installation.
- Inference: On the vLLM 0.28 development line, a native decode graph (#646, under review) and ModelSlim dynamic W8A8 quantization support (#643, under review) were added; both align with the FEP-0140 rewrite merged in this window and will ultimately need to converge on 0.32.
- Images: Four backend keys (cann8.5.0, cann8.5.0-910c, cann9.0.0, cann9.0.0-910c) tracked to 2.3.0-0.3.0.
- Other compiler work: On the FlagTree side, aligned add_rms_norm_bias with AscendC precision (#1445), and TLE added a vector fused multiply-add custom operator (#1453, under review).
3.3 Tsingmicro: TXDA Gains Graph Capture and Replay, FlagCX Connects TSM (10-27)
Date: 2026-10-27 Source: vllm-plugin-FL PR #649 · FlagCX PR #674 · vllm-plugin-FL PR #642
- Graph mode: TXDA gained FULL_DECODE_ONLY graph capture and replay capability in the vLLM plugin, fixing two root causes — kernel launches rejected within the capture domain (error code 0x47000003) and stream redirection caused by device guards.
- Communication: FlagCX added TSM support for the Torch backend, while also fixing grouped P2P cleanup, invalid peer rejection, and async stream event handling, with changes spanning 10 files.
- Pending items: TXDA’s vLLM 0.28 adaptation is still under review (#642); FlagCX’s RPM packaging for Tsingmicro, Enflame, and Hygon (#673) was merged at the end of the previous window.
- Images: The tsm260610 backend key has been recorded to 2.3.0-0.3.0.
3.4 Kunlunxin: Split-Aggregation Optimization and foreach Helper Fix on XPU3 (10-27)
Date: 2026-10-27 Source: FlagGems PR #7752 · FlagGems PR #7832 · FlagGems PR #7776 · FlagCX PR #678
- Operator optimization: Rewrote the slice_scatter and vstack paths on XPU, and used sym_numel to restore the vendor operator table that the registration logic had missed.
- Fixes and merges: Restored the foreach dtype helper (#7832), merged a batch of 20261026 Kunlunxin changes as a whole (#7776), and fixed two issues in the window: logical_and and a registration error.
- Under review: FlagCX added a device IR entry for the Kunlunxin XPU to interface with FlagTree (#678); the SGLang-side backend upgrade to 0.5.18 (#155); the FlagTree-side distributed TLE backend (#1436) and XPU Python source specialization (#1422) are both under review.
- Images: The xre5.37.1 backend key has been recorded to 2.3.0-0.3.0.
3.5 Hygon and AMD: DCU Adds libglog, ROCm 7.2.4 Backend Takes Shape (10-27)
Date: 2026-10-27 Source: build-infra PR #1524 · build-infra PR #1525 · build-infra PR #1535 · sglang-plugin-FL PR #157
- Hygon: build-infra reissued libglog.so.1, fixing native plugin load failures on DTK images (#1524); the dtk26.04 application image tags and runtime change records were completed the same day. On the Torch-FL side, two new PRs were opened around DCU directory spelling and soft-lowp matrix declarations (#669 to #671).
- AMD configuration: Five consecutive merges for the ROCm 7.2.4 backend — configuration and runner, pinning triton-rocm 3.6.0, adding hipsolver/hipfft/miopen-hip, enabling the AMD wheel line for FlagCX, and allowing vendor PyPI.
- AMD ecosystem: On the SGLang side, FlagOS SGLang ran successfully on the Radeon AI PRO R9700 (gfx1201) (#157, under review); FlagCX’s AMD adaptation switched to CUDAStreamGuard (#680, under review); and on the FlagTree side, decode acceleration was implemented for the R9700 and W7900 (#1439, under review).
- Assessment: AMD is the only newly added backend this cycle, and its path differs from domestic vendors — base images first, then configuration and packaging; on the operator library side (FlagGems), there is still no HIP C++ backend, so only the Triton path is available in the short term.
3.6 Enflame, T-Head, Enflame-Sophon, Moore Threads: One Structural Change Each (10-27)
Date: 2026-10-27 Source: vllm-plugin-FL PR #582 · FlagGems PR #7220 · FlagAttention PR #116 · FlagTree PR #1448
- Enflame: The vLLM 0.28 adaptation for S60 was merged (#582), and application image tags for two TOPS versions (1.9.10 and 1.10.6) were recorded at the same time; on the FlagAttention side, a fused attention residual operator was added (#116, under review); FlagPrism’s TOPS header and library dependency changes (#17) saw no new progress this window.
- T-Head: The conv2d optimization was merged (#7220), while optimizations for conv3d and conv_transpose2d remain under review; images for two CoreX versions (4.4.0 and 4.5.0) were recorded; the empty-runtime adaptation for SGLang 0.5.18 is still under review (#139).
- Enflame-Sophon: tangrt1.2.0 entered the application image matrix for the first time, and the vLLM 0.28 runtime adaptation plus shared Gate CI are under review (#647).
- Moore Threads: The SDK was upgraded to v0.7.1 (#1448), aligned with the previous day’s 0.7.1a1+mthreads3.6 tag; the mhc_post performance optimization on MUSA was merged with FlagGems-vllm #976; images for two MUSA versions (4.3.6 and 5.2.0) were recorded.
IV. Summary and Trend Observations
- Cadence: In the 24-hour window, 20 repos were pushed, 98 merges and 401 reviews (135 of which were a single batch submission); merge volume fell 26% from 133 the previous day. The number of pushed repos hit a two-week high, but the increase came mainly from bot bookkeeping and batch submissions, with substantive code changes concentrated in the dozen or so items above.
- Versions: Application images for 2.3.0 have been recorded across 20 backends, and runtime change records are being filled in, but version tags have not been cut and no release manifest has been created; the milestones are the November 13 FEP merge deadline and the November 30 rc0. If community/release/2.3 still contains only a schedule by then, the rc period will be compressed.
- Rules: The decision to ship 0.32 only and skip 0.28 compresses the cost of catching up on versions into a single jump, at the price that adaptations merged on 0.28 (Enflame S60, T-Head, MetaX, XuanTie, and other lines) need to be re-validated on 0.32 — work that has not yet been reflected in any PR.
- Coverage: MetaX chose to submit 135 specialized operators as batch PRs to the experimental repo rather than directly to the main repo, indicating that the experimental repo is taking on the role of “auditable acceptance evidence”; the main FlagGems repo is still working through KernelGen’s single-operator completions. The combined review pressure from these two streams is the main reason for the surge in review counts this cycle.
- Backends: AMD went from base images to configuration, packaging, and wheel lines, becoming the only newly added backend this cycle; domestic vendors focused on filling out capabilities of existing backends (Kunlunxin XPU3, Tsingmicro graph mode, Enflame 0.28, T-Head convolution, Enflame-Sophon’s first inclusion).
- To watch: The CI failure after FlagQAI’s first export and PR #1; the boundary between its positioning (a quantum computing synthesis layer) and FlagQuantum (quantum simulation and training) has not yet been clarified in the documentation. The repeated closing and reopening of FlagGems #7809 also needs confirmation as to whether it is an automated retry or a process defect.
