On January 6, 2025, the “RISC-V Ecological Laboratory and Open Source Ecosystem Construction Seminar,” hosted by Nanjing Yingqi Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. and co-organized by Shanghai Kubuds Technology Co., Ltd., was successfully held in the Spring Equinox Conference Room of Nanjing Yingqi Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. This seminar brought together numerous industry elites to jointly discuss the construction and development of the RISC-V ecosystem. Kubuds Technology CEO Li Weiwei was invited to attend and delivered an insightful speech titled “QEMU for RISC-V: Current Status, Progress, and Integration Discussion in RISC-V Lab.”

At the seminar, Li Weiwei first expressed sincere gratitude to Nanjing Yingqi Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. for the kind invitation. He stated that this seminar provided a good communication platform for the construction and development of the RISC-V ecosystem, allowing all parties to share and discuss experiences and insights in RISC-V ecosystem construction. Meanwhile, he emphasized the important position and contributions of Nanjing Yingqi Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. in RISC-V ecosystem construction, especially the remarkable progress made in the construction of projects such as the Nanjing RISC-V Ecosystem Laboratory and the RISC-V Prosperity 2036 Nanjing Drift Base.

Subsequently, Li Weiwei introduced in detail the current application status of QEMU in the RISC-V architecture. He said that QEMU’s support for RISC-V is now relatively complete, capable of emulating processors of multiple RISC-V architectures and supporting the operation of various operating systems and applications. At the same time, he also pointed out that QEMU still faces challenges and room for improvement in aspects such as performance optimization and function expansion.

When talking about the progress of QEMU, Li Weiwei shared Kubuds Technology’s research achievements and practical experience in this field. He mentioned that Kubuds Technology has improved the performance and stability of QEMU through continuous optimization and improvement. In addition, Kubuds Technology also actively participates in the construction of the open-source community, collaborating with other developers to promote the function expansion and innovation of QEMU.

Li Weiwei also conducted an in-depth discussion on the integration of QEMU for RISC-V with RISC-V Lab. He believed that RISC-V Lab, as an open experimental platform, provides a good environment for the application and promotion of QEMU. At the same time, QEMU provides powerful simulation capabilities for RISC-V Lab, enabling the laboratory to better support the innovation and development of the RISC-V ecosystem.
