On May 10, 2025, the opening ceremony of the “OpenCloudOS Open Source Operating System Training Camp,” jointly initiated by the School of Electronic Information at South-Central Minzu University (SCUN) and the OpenCloudOS Community, was successfully held in the International Hall of the Academic Exchange Center. Engineer Li Cheng from Kubuds Technology was invited to attend and delivered a thematic report titled “From Scratch: The First Contribution to OC RISC-V.”

In his report, Li Cheng analyzed the current state of RISC-V technology development,展望了其未来趋势 its future trends, and elaborated on the synergy between the OpenCloudOS community and the RISC-V ecosystem development. He particularly highlighted the phased achievements and plans of the OC RISC-V SIG (Special Interest Group). Finally, from a student’s perspective, he shared a growth path: learning and practicing through the training camp, earning rewards by completing community tasks, and eventually joining the joint internship program of the “RISC-V Prosperity 2036.”

Li Cheng expressed his gratitude to the OpenCloudOS community for the invitation and looked forward to deeper collaboration. Kubuds Technology will continue to uphold the principle of openness and work with all parties to promote the RISC-V ecosystem construction. This event primarily targeted training camp members, with some lower-year undergraduate students also participating.

The construction of the software package ecosystem in open-source software maintenance is crucial. The OpenCloudOS community, aligning with the practicalities of university teaching, has integrated open-source maintenance, version release, kernel development, and AI technology into practical courses – an innovative model worthy of recognition.
